Five years ago, in the middle of the pandemic, we posted on Nextdoor asking if any neighbors might want to share a bottle of wine from a safe distance. A handful of strangers showed up, socially distanced in our driveway, curious to meet new people and talk over a glass of wine.
Some of these strangers have become friends, and what began as a simple gathering during an unusual moment has slowly become something we now look forward to every month. These evenings have become a regular excuse for Alex and me to gather friends, meet new neighbors, and continue discovering great wines together.
To celebrate our fifth anniversary, we return to the vintage that marked our beginning.
Bring a bottle from the 2021 vintage, and let’s raise a glass to see if it has aged as beautifully as this gathering has.
Things to bring:
A bottle of wine to share (matching the theme of the evening)
A wine glass
A small snack or dish for the group
A jacket and/or blanket for cooler evenings
Feel free to bring a new friend or neighbor
What we provide:
Wine equipment (openers, Coravin, decanters, aerators, etc.)
A selection of snacks
Water (sparkling and still)
Propane heaters
The occasional bonus bottle
Please try to arrive as close as possible to the posted start time so everyone has the chance to taste all of the wines.
As always, if you would like to host this or a future event, just let us know and we can happily rotate the location.
